Question

I left a portable speaker and an ipoh at work. I immediately called and the items were found and turned into the manager's office for safe keeping. When picking them up that night the items were no where to be found. Does my employer have any responsibility for the items since they acknowledged that they were found and then lost/stolen from their possession?

Answer

It's hard to say based on this limited information. But even if the company had some duty to protect your things, the fact that they went missing would not mean the company breached its duty. It's common for things to be stolen despite reasonable precautions against theft. If that's what happened here, the thief would probably be the only one responsible.

My answer might be different if I knew more about the facts.
