Question

When dealing with the estate of a deceased family member is it true whoever owns the house also owns the contents. For instance a grandparent living in a small home belonging to her son does he have control over all the contents of the house.

Answer

It depends on what the will says. If there isn't a will, then absolutely not. The contents are to be split amongst all heirs.
