Can I get emancipated? I'm a 16 year old girl who recently got her U.S. citizenship. I moved here from Europe about 5 years ago and I see my future in the United States, while my mother really wants to move back to Europe. I have a clean criminal record, a job (I could get a second one if I needed more money), and perfect grades. I could easily find a place to live at or a room to rent if I needed to. Because I want to get my education in the U.S. I am thinking about the emancipation process so I could stay here if my mother moves. The problem is that the process requires a parent's consent and I doubt I could get it. Do I still have a chance?
