If you file bankruptcy and there is a jugement on you are you responsible to pay the jugement

Question

If you file bankruptcy and there is a jugement on you are you responsible to pay the jugement

Answer

It depends. There is a way to get that judgment declared null and void. That is just one reason why you need an attorney for a bankruptcy. The cheap way to try to do this is get a certified copy of the discharge and record it in the public records of your county. But that is not an order from the bankruptcy judge that the final judgment against you is no longer any good at all.
