Question

After a twenty-five year marriage, my ex-husband and I agreed to and was ordered by the court for him to pay $595.00 per month in alimony until I remarry or die. He now wants to retire and no longer wants to pay the alimony. Do I have any rights in this matter? He married a much younger woman that contributes to his income. He says I am preventing him from retiring. I signed the house over to him. We have a joint income from our marriage.

Answer

The complexity of your situation deserves the attention of an experienced attorney in an office consulration. A careful review of your court order is required.
