If two people are in a deed to a house. Can one take their name off without telling the other person? What would the punishment be if they did do that without telling the other party?
Answer
If someone owns half a house, he can give or sell his half to anyone without the other's consent. Note that he cannot change the loan deed, if there is one, and a transfer may violate a loan deed and cause the debt to be accelerated.
