We are having issues with the management company of our house. There are many things that need to be fixed that are still not resolved. We gave the company a written 7 day notice to fix the problems. The A.C. guy shows up a day later what a surprise. We are having the mold problem taken care of tomorrow. We have a smell like mildew or mold. We noticed it when we first saw the house but thought it was because the house had not been lived in for 45 days. We learned today from there A.C. guy that the previous renters had the same smell but worse. He noticed it as soon as he walked in. My question is can we get out of the lease because they rented us a house they knew had problems before we moved in? Thank you. Chris

If they cannot make repairs, have your attorney terminate the lease. Keep a diary and gets names and addresses of all witnesses. Good luck.

Your lease agreements specifies your rights and obligations. Have the lease reviewed with an attorney. Termination of the lease is not an easy task.
