Question

I am a former federal employee (usps) and was fired from my job after reporting an on-the-job injury for the first time in my life. I had 20 years of service. From the time I reported my injury, I was harassed by my supervisor until I was fired.

Are you familiar with the Office of Government Ethics and would this be an agency who might do an investigation into this matter? Are there time limits for reporting what happened to me? Also, are you familiar with the Merit Systems Protection Board? I want to know where I can get justice for what was done to me (I have a disability of depression). I have been ruined and cannot afford an attorney. Please e-mail me at [email protected]/* */

Answer

I'm sorry to hear that: the silver lining is that many attorneys may be interested in assisting you on a contingency basis, which means that you will owe them no fees unless you recover.

Moreover, federal employees have far more rights than employees in the private sector.

First, what was the stated reason for your termination? And what was the on-the-job injury that you reported? Was it yours? Is there an ongoing worker's compensation claim?
