Question

I work for a company that provides ABA therapy to children. As of May 1st, the company is going to give me all of their clients and I am going to work for myself. I was wondering what type of company that I should have or if I even need to have a company. I was thinking about bringing on the therapists at my current company to be therapists for me. Would that change the type of business that I would have? Thank you very much for your time.

Answer

There are different business and/or corporate structures that you could use depending on if only you will own the business, or if you will own it with other people or entities, and the amount of liability you want to assume. Also, tax consequences need to be considered. It's best to have a consultation with an attorney who practices corporate formation because you need to discuss your business and these considerations.
