How much does a typical child support modification case with an attorney cost? trying to weigh pros and costs of obtaining an attorney to modify child support when i move closer to my children in Tampa, FL after I ETS out of the military in 2015. I will be attending as a full time student and income will have obviously substantially decreased from E-5 pay down to civilian student income as well as the "child support receivers(mother)" income substantially increased; (from being imputed at minimum wage/no job) due to recent graduation from medical field and now making $50k+.
Answer
Child support modification is basically a mathematical calculation so the average price with an attorney is $2500
Answer
Price depends on amount of feuding going on. If there is agreement, so the modification is uncontested and requires only one hearing, usually 4 hours. If there is dispute and one party objects, there is no cap ahead of time due to uncertainty as to whether a formal trial will be necessary.
