Question

How much is a reasonable percentage for a Lawyer who is acting as executor and another man who is a relative of the deceased as co-executor for an estate of about 1.8 million in the state of Connecticut? The lawyer is stating 35,000 for him and 10,000 for the relative. Is this reasonable or excessive to you?

Answer

That's right on the button. An estate of that size requires different skills. The non-lawyer can do much of the administrative work, leaving the specialized legal work to the lawyer. A ballpark fee would be 2.5 to 3% of the gross estate.
