Question

I recently got served eviction papers I was two weeks behind which is 240 dollars. I went to the Department of Social Services for help and they agreed to pay 200 of it if I paid 40 dollars when I get paid on Friday. The worker at The Department of Social Services spoke to my landlord and she agreed on it. But Thursday I got served with eviction cause she didn't believe that they was going to pay it. So when I go to court I know I will have to pay the past do but will the judge see that she should've took the money from The Department of Social Services and not make me pay for the court costs and the eviction cost.

Answer

Unfortunately, the landlord was not required to take the money from DSS or rely on a promise which was conditioned on a payment from you. Unfortunately you will have to pay rent, the late fee, and court costs to prevent the eviction.
