I over heard a nurse threatening a patient in the emergency room. Her threat was that if the patient did not listen to her she would use a paralytic drug on him and intubate him with out anesthesia or pain medication.

My question is, is the above threat I heard legal for a medical professional to do? Can you legally be threatened and tortured by a nurse if you don't listen to them? I was under the impression you can refuse medical procedures with out retaliation.
