Inherited possessions eight months ago. Executor will not give them to me. Insists she has a right to assess and catalog all of them first.



Answer

The right to possession is not dependent upon the fact that someone may have left something to you in a will, or that you are an heir. Distributions are done by an executor once probate of a will is complete. An executor who is appointed by the court must gather and catalog the decedent's property.
