Question

Roommate bailed out early on his lease and hasn't paid since. I found out he owes money to many credit unions. I don't believe it is worthwhile in pursuing him in small claims, but is there some way I can let the credit unions he owes money to that he will most likely not pay up?

Answer

First, if he really does owe the money what good will notifying them do? Will it cause them to act any other way? They will figure it out if he makes a payment or not... Second if he does make payments and you publish data like that you may be defaming him.

Either sue for what he owes or drop it...
