my wife was told by letter that I was not a legal resident of her home because I was not on the rental contract and that i am ordered to vacate immediately and take my possessions and moreover that I am not allowed to enter the property again. this was written on a letter and signed by the rental agent and the owners. by rental qagreement she is the sole occupant of the house on a one year lease

I'm not sure what your question is, but that is illegal. You have as much right to be in the unit by virtue of your marriage as your wife does.
