I rented a room in a garage at a house but not longer live there. Code Compliance just went there and made all the renters move because there were no permits, etc for the building of the multiple rooms inside the garage and in the back yard. Code Compliance said it is "uninhabitable". I rented a room there for 2 years. Can I sue for rent abatement for paying rent every month, since it was "uninhabitable" when I was there? I moved out about 8 months ago. So, my question is, can previous tenants sue for rent abatement?

You can't sue for rent abatement for a place you no longer rent. A rent abatement would be a court order approving a lower rent for you to pay.
